PX7 Carbon Edition: Over-ear headphones from Bowers & Wilkins available in new version

By Editor 6 months ago

The flagship of the P series now also available as PX7 Carbon Edition

Ten years after Bowers & Wilkins first added mobile products to its audio portfolio, the British company presents a noble new addition:

The PX7 Carbon Edition (you can find a review of the Space Grey version here) aims to impress with its classic black design and is made of carbon fiber composite materials that are supposed to stand for maximum strength and durability. There are also diamond-cut details on the two ear pads. The headphones weigh 302 grams and are said to offer unmatched sound with adaptive, customizable noise cancellation. Soft ear cushions are said to provide the best wearing comfort and a classy feel. With noise-cancelling activated, battery life is up to 30 hours, with a quick charge of just 15 minutes providing an additional five hours of playtime. Noise-canceling can be adjusted to different listening situations via the Bowers & Wilkins headphone app. Music playback and noise-canceling can be stopped by the user at the touch of a button in notification mode.

Particularly intuitive, proximity sensors allow music playback to stop even when an ear cushion is lifted or the entire headphone is wrapped around the neck. The PX7 Carbon Edition is compatible with all popular Bluetooth devices.

The dedicated and large 43.6mm drivers and new aptX Adaptive technology are said to create a realistic hi-fi soundstage, reproducing sound as it was recorded in the studio. The PX7 features high-resolution wireless technology in 24bit/48kHz streaming quality and active noise-cancelling with 16x sampling rate to ensure undisturbed music enjoyment.

Prices and availability

The PX7 Carbon Edition is expected to be available soon at authorized Bowers & Wilkins retailers for €399 (MSRP). The PX7 is also available in Space Grey and Silver versions. To find your nearest Bowers & Wilkins dealer, use the dealer locator at www.bowerswilkins.com.
