Marshall Major IV: Legendary sound in a new guise

Marshall Major IV: Legendary sound in a new guise

By Editor 5 months ago

Legendary sound
The new Major IV is said to deliver (once again) the legendary Marshall sound that has made the company so famous. Specially adapted drivers are to provide booming bass, smooth mids and brilliant highs and thus a powerful, unmatched sound.

More than 80 hours of wireless playtime

The Major IV is said to deliver more than 80 hours of wireless playtime. And if the battery does run low, you can simply plug the included 3.5mm cable into your device and keep listening. The Major IV also features a quick charge function – with just 15 minutes of charging time, you should then be able to enjoy 15 hours of listening pleasure. In addition, there’s now the option to charge the on-ear wirelessly.

Improved ergonomic design

The Major IV’s new, improved ergonomic design is said to ensure that it’s just as comfortable after ten hours as it was when you started. As a result, the Major IV’s ear cushions are said to be softer and conform better to the shape of the ear, making the headphones increasingly comfortable and easier to wear over time.

Multi-directional control knob

The multi-directional control button, which we liked on previous models, allows you to play, pause, skip, adjust the volume, and turn the headphones on and off.

of the device and turn the headphones on and off. Thanks to the phone function, you can of course also answer, reject or end calls.

Legendary Marshall design

The Major IV aims to combine improved usability with classic Marshall elements to create a legendary yet innovative design. The new folding clip allows you to fold the Major IV compactly while protecting the ear cups from wear and tear. It features a tactile control button, textured black vinyl and Marshall lettering, and just the right amount of ruggedness to withstand the rough and tumble of everyday life.

Share your music

With a 3.5mm jack, not only can you easily plug in the Major IV when the battery is low, but you can also enjoy music together with a friend – quickly and easily.

[UPDATE] Lypertek Introduces New LEVI True Wireless In-Ear Headphones

[UPDATE] Lypertek Introduces New LEVI True Wireless In-Ear Headphones

By Editor 5 months ago

Lypertek presents LEVI, the successor of the TEVI, which already convinced us in last year’s test.
And so the LEVI is now set to bring outstanding quality and high value to the world of mobile audio technology

With the LEVI, Lypertek claims to have placed special emphasis on comfort and fit when designing the earphones. Based on the contours of the ear, the LEVI is said to have been designed to fit securely and ensure a comfortable wearing experience. Its ergonomic design is said to make it suitable for a variety of activities such as travel, sports, fitness or simply enjoying music at home.

And the layout of the controls is also said to be a first for True Wireless in-ear headphones: The placement of the multi-function button is said to prevent accidental triggering, such as with touch-controlled devices. The unpleasant pressing of the earpiece into the ear canal should also be a thing of the past. The range of controls includes start/pause, skipping tracks, volume, answering calls, activating the ambient sound mode and calling up voice assistants.

Lypertek has chosen an attractive and simple design for the LEVI – with a minimalist exterior that is said to have been manufactured to high standards. The charging case, which is said to have a high-quality finish, is supposed to offer a textured and fingerprint-repellent surface. Due to its compact design, it fits in almost every pocket. The control LEDs on the front provide information about the charging status.

Packed with features

The LEVI aims to provide enduring listening pleasure with eight hours of playback time on a single battery charge and another 40 hours through the included charging case. Thanks to Fast Charge technology, an additional 2 hours of playback time is said to be achievable with a 15-minute charge. Charging the compact, pocket-sized charging case is either done via the USB-C port or wirelessly via Wireless Charging.

It has reportedly never been easier to connect to a selected device. Thanks to the one-step setup function, pairing is said to be especially easy. After opening the LEVI charging case, the earphones are ready to connect to any Bluetooth audio device. The earphones are automatically ready to use with the last paired device within seconds of activation.

The LEVI is also said to offer high passive noise isolation due to its in-ear design. With a triple click, the built-in ambient sound mode on the LEVI is activated and ambient sounds can be heard again.

Lypertek is said to have fine-tuned the LEVI for powerful and engaging sound with impressive clarity and high fun factor. In doing so, the LEVI is based on the multi-award winning Lypertek TEVI and uses the highest quality dynamic drivers to create a balanced and vibrant sound that brings music to life. With Bluetooth 5.0 technology and AAC compatibility, the LEVI prioritizes audio quality and energy efficiency for a long and enjoyable listening experience.

Technical data (manufacturer’s specifications):
  • Drivers: 6mm Neodymium Dynamic Drivers
  • Frequency response: 20Hz – 20kHz
  • Bluetooth specification: Bluetooth 5.0
  • Supported Audio Codecs: AAC, SBC
  • Playback time (max): 8 hours + 40 hours through charging case
  • Water resistance rating: IPX5
  • Charging options: USB-C and wireless charging (Wireless Charging).
  • MSRP: €79
  • Release date: 29.10.2020

SPL Series One – Phonitor One d and Phonitor One

SPL Series One – Phonitor One d and Phonitor One

By Editor 5 months ago

Under the motto “Number One In Sound”, SPL has developed a new product line that aims to combine the sound of their large devices with a desktop-friendly design and an affordable price for the ambitious user.
The Series One is designed to appeal equally to professional recording studios, home studios, musicians, music lovers and media creatives of all varieties.

The first two Series One devices are named Phonitor One and Phonitor One d, are both headphone amplifiers and celebrate their product launch today! More Series One devices are to follow shortly.

SPL’s Phonitor One headphone amplifier enables high-quality monitoring of analog sources. Thanks to the Phonitor Matrix with Crossfeed Control, it should be possible to create mixes that sound as if they were mixed through speakers. An analog volume control, an aluminum front panel and a high-quality metal housing are supposed to show that no compromises have been made in quality. The Phonitor d is also said to use the highly acclaimed AKM AK4490 Velvet Sound premium DAC chip, which is said to reproduce the finest sound details thanks to its new architecture. PCM playback with up to 768 kHz/32Bit and Direct Stream Digital up to DSD4 playback should leave nothing to be desired. A balanced stereo line output predestines the Phonitor One d for use as a stand-alone DAC.

I am pleased that with the Series One we have developed a new product line for the ambitious sound creator. It was a challenge to bring the famous SPL sound to this series – I’m really very proud of the result – it’s worth hearing and seeing.” – Jens Gronwald, Developer

Exclusive: Buy Soundcore headphones and save a whopping 30 euros!

Exclusive: Buy Soundcore headphones and save a whopping 30 euros!

By Editor 5 months ago

Anker’s Soundcore Liberty Air 2 offers a modern, punchy tuning with a convincing sound quality and scores as an everyday listener with its personalizability via the app.
Normally, this True Wireless In-Ear costs 99.99 euros, but you can only get it here for 30 euros less!

With 4.31 out of 5 stars, these headphones proved their worth in our test:

[…] the Liberty Air 2 are bass-affine tuned, which is particularly noticeable in the low-frequency range, as low-end is present. The more powerful bass foundation […] is defined with a punchy presence that offers listening pleasure even in bass-oriented productions. At the same time, there is a clear midrange and treble reproduction, whereby the high frequency range does not fall off and draws clean contours despite a pleasing, soft rounding. Also favored by the direct approach, the sound therefore seems appealingly lively. […] In this respect, there is nothing to complain about from a sound perspective, especially since both iOS and Android users benefit from the support of high-quality audio codecs.

And just like its big brother, the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro (for the 40 euro discount!), you can personalize the sound of the Liberty Air 2 with “Hear ID”.

[…]Alternatively, you can also take a listening test that generates a so-called HearID and automatically makes individual adjustments, which especially serve the balance between the left and right ear.

If you want to know exactly, the full review of the Soundcore Liberty Air 2 is highly recommended!

The price of the Liberty Air 2 is currently 99.99 euros, but thanks to Soundcore and kopfhoerer.de you can save 30 euros!

And this is how you get the Soundcore Liberty Air 2 for €69.99 instead of €99.99:

  • just go to the product page of the manufacturer: https://bit.ly/2ZFsXXy
  • choose your preferred color black or white
  • click on “Add to shopping cart
  • on the shopping cart page you will see a field at the bottom called “Redeem discount code (optional)
  • there please enter the exclusive reader code
  • Note: The code is only valid per order and cannot be combined with other promotions.
  • then continue with your order as usual
  • for this order you will of course get free shipping!
  • IMPORTANT: The discount promotion is valid from 22.09.2020 to 20.10.2020

It should be known by now that Soundcore by Anker manufactures headphones that have a good price-performance ratio.
And of course, this also applies to the Premium True Wireless In-Ear Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro by Anker, which you can get exclusively for 40 Euros less!

The headphones come with a special design of the drivers: Astria Coaxial Acoustic Architecture – ACAA for short – describes the arrangement of the installed drivers, which are not placed next to each other, but in front of each other and twisted to each other, so that there is no frequency cancellation and less delay offset, which is supposed to provide rich bass and beautiful mids and treble, which should then also sound as good as from the recording studio.

And this was also confirmed by our test of the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro:

Out of the box and completely unprejudiced […] a kind of happiness sets in in my ears: Bass, midrange, treble – everything is there and everything is defined, clean, powerful and well balanced.

We can already check the box for “good sound”, but the real highlight of these headphones is the so-called “Hear ID”, because like its little brother, the Soundcore Liberty Air 2 (to the 30 euro discount campaign!), you personalize the sound according to your listening habits.

Under the app’s guidance, I can have my hearing checked in about three minutes and thus create an optimal profile for me. The resulting sound is actually good and somehow more balanced, which no other preset had offered me in a hurry. […] With current pop music, I’m right in the middle of the rich and excellent ratio of muffled bass and clear treble, with the path in between lushly and softly filled in, giving me the impression of really getting deep into the sound. […] The stereo stage is wide, broad and once again I’m in the middle of it instead of just in front of it. Sonically, a lot fits together here and thanks to the app, I get many options for improvement at hand.

For those who want to know exactly, the full review of the Soundcore Liberty 2 pro is highly recommended!

The recommended retail price of the Liberty Pro is currently 129.99 euros, but thanks to Soundcore and kopfhoerer.de you can save a whopping 40 euros!

And so you get the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro for 89.99 € instead of 129.99 €:

  • simply go to the product page of the manufacturer: https://bit.ly/3mrB9EU
  • select your desired color black or white
  • click on “Add to cart
  • on the shopping cart page you will see a field at the bottom called “Redeem discount code (optional)
  • there please enter the exclusive reader code WSMUSIC40
  • Note: The code is only valid per order and cannot be combined with other promotions.

Are you looking for affordable true wireless in-ears with active noise cancelling?
Then you should check out the exclusive special of the headphone manufacturer TaoTronics!

TaoTronics currently offers a really good casual in-ear with the SoundLiberty 94, which are true wireless headphones with active noise cancelling and ambient mode and offer a lot of features for little money. Normally, the headphones currently cost 69.99 Euros, but thanks to the coupon code, you get a 10% discount on the purchase.

We liked the TaoTronics SoundLiberty 94 in our test:

The in-ears sit firmly and tightly in the ear with the corresponding fitting piece, so that there is already good isolation against external noise here, which benefits the active noise cancellation that works with two microphones each in the SoundLiberty 94 – one in the housing is directed outward and a second inward.

The SoundLiberty 94’s overall sound is smooth and balanced. The 10 mm drivers deliver a good bass foundation with ample mids using the SBC or AAC codec, and well-drawn trebles that are neither too muffled nor too shrill work above that.

All other important details can be found in our review!

And this is how you can get the TaoTronics SoundLiberty 94 cheaper:

  • Just go to the product page at amazon.de: https://amzn.to/30AeyfN (partner link)
  • regular price: 69,99 €
  • reduced price: 62,99 €

With Teufel it’s now sporty: Berlin sound specialist times AIRY SPORTS In-Ears

By Editor 5 months ago

Sport and music simply belong together.
Whether you just want to stay fit or train for bigger goals, the AIRY SPORTS wants to be the perfect companion for that.

The headphones should sit securely in the ear, the extremely soft earpieces provide additional support, and neither rain nor sweat can harm the AIRY SPORTS – it even powers swimmers during training – in the best sound quality and with great endurance.

Features (manufacturer specifications):
  • Professional in-ear sports headphones with linear HD drivers, effective external sound attenuation and soft ear hooks for a secure yet comfortable fit.
  • Bluetooth with apt-X and AAC for music streaming in CD-like quality from Spotify, Amazon Music, Youtube, Apple Music and Co., video sound is transmitted lip-synchronously
  • IPX7 waterproof for water sports enthusiasts (maximum depth 1m, maximum 30 minutes)
  • Up to 25 hours of playtime with one battery charge
  • In-line remote control for music and phone control
  • hands-free speakerphone with Qualcomm cVc™ technology for best voice clarity
  • Voice control via Google/Siri
  • ShareMe function: connect two AIRY SPORTS wirelessly with one
    smartphone
  • Equalizer in the Teufel Headphones app
  • Extremely soft, flexible earpieces made of antibacterial silicone for a firm, comfortable fit – even for people who wear glasses, adjustable neckband
  • three pairs of soft silicone ear tips and convenient hard case included
  • available immediately at a price of 119.99 euros* in Night Black and Steel Blue, with Moon Gray, Coral Pink and Arctic Blue expected to be available by the end of the year

The AIRY SPORTS are said to have been specially developed for the needs of active people. The strong sound typical for Teufel meets a battery life of up to 25 hours and an IPX7 waterproof housing in this Bluetooth headphone. This means that the AIRY SPORTS can not only withstand sweat and rain, but also provide sound for water sports enthusiasts (swimming, kite surfing, etc.). Both the easy-to-change earpieces and the earhooks are made of soft, antibacterial silicone and are designed to provide the best fit with maximum comfort – even for people who wear glasses.

Two in sync

Using the free Teufel Headphones app, the sound can be adjusted to personal preferences via an equalizer. Here, you can also connect your AIRY SPORTS to a second AIRY SPORTS via the ShareMe function, so that both play the same music from one source. This feature allows two people to walk in sync to the same beat, for example.

Everything under control

Volume, telephony and music playback are controlled via the compact in-line remote control. In addition, a long press on the play/pause button triggers the respective voice assistant (Siri, Google Assistant). For best speech intelligibility during phone calls, Teufel relies on Qualcomm cVc™ technology in the AIRY SPORTS, which suppresses ambient noise and noticeably increases call quality.

Colors, prices and availability

The AIRY SPORTS (go to website) is available now in Steel Blue and Night Black at a price of 119.99 euros*. Three additional color options are said to already be in production and are expected to be available by the end of the year: Moon Gray, Coral Pink and Artic Blue. Each AIRY SPORTS comes in a convenient, compact hard case, and a charging cable and three different-sized pairs of ear tips are included.

               * due to the reduced VAT in Germany from 1.7.2020, the actual sales                          price in Germany is 116,96 Euro

Look Mom, No Wires! Grado introduces their first True Wireless In-Ear with the GT220.

By Editor 5 months ago

The New York headphone company Grado is expanding its portfolio and offers its first true wireless model with the GT220, which now wants to conjure up the familiar Grado sound in your ears completely wirelessly.
Thus, the midrange reproduction is supposed to be neutral and musical without any coloration, while the bass is supposed to be more pronounced. The high-frequency reproduction is natural and without any sharpness, it is said.

With Bluetooth 5.0 and support for AAC and aptX codecs as well as voice assistants, the in-ear is on the cutting edge. Media and call management is of course done via touch sensors.

Play time is said to be around 36 hours, including the extra charge of the charging case. The GT220s are supposed to play for around six hours with a single charging cycle, and the case is able to charge the small earbuds up to five times. You can recharge via USB-C or wirelessly via Qi.

The Grado GT220s cost around 260 US dollars and can be pre-ordered in the US now. It is not yet known when they will be available in German-speaking countries.

Technical data (manufacturer’s specifications):
  • Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
  • Nominal impedance: 32 Ohm
  • Bluetooth version: 5.0
  • Bluetooth codecs: aptX, AAC, SBC
  • Headphone – capacity: 50 mAh
  • Charging case – capacity: 500 mA
  • Battery life: 6 hours; 36 hours
  • Charging case: 5x charging
  • Charging time: about 2 hours
