Samsung presents Galaxy Buds Pro

Samsung presents Galaxy Buds Pro

From editor 2 month ago

Samsung presents the latest generation of its wireless headphones:

In addition to rich sound, the Galaxy Buds Pro aim to provide high call quality, intelligent active noise cancellation, and additional networking capabilities between different compatible devices – all wrapped up in a modern, sleek design.

Whether jogging, talking on the phone with loved ones or listening to a podcast to relax, Samsung’s claimed highest-quality True Wireless headphones to date deliver personalized sound for almost any everyday situation.

The new Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are said to provide a dynamic, balanced sound experience from hip-hop grooves to classical melodies. To achieve this, the True Wireless headphones have been equipped with an 11-millimeter woofer for rich bass and a 6.5-millimeter tweeter for brilliant highs. Both music and conversations are thus supposed to sound realistic, authentic and almost lifelike.

Rich sounds instead of annoying noises
Headphones have long since outgrown the purpose of merely reproducing sound. They take on an important role in private and professional communication – and call quality is a high priority. With three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU), the Galaxy Buds Pro recognize the user’s voice and can distinguish it from unwanted background noise to enable clear intelligibility. Samsung also relies on its Wind Shield technology: the little protruding shape of the Galaxy Buds Pro can minimize the contact area for wind, and a specially designed chamber with mesh fabric can additionally filter out wind interference. Even in stormy weather, phone calls can thus remain intelligible.

“A big advantage of the Galaxy Buds Pro is its customizability. This means users are less distracted and can concentrate on what they want to hear,” says Mario Winter, Senior Director Marketing IT & Mobile Communication and Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics. “This is what the Galaxy Buds Pro achieve with intelligent active noise cancellation.”

Acoustically independent thanks to intelligent active noise cancellation
For those who want to focus on their work – or simply tune out the world around them and relax – the Galaxy Buds Pro’s intelligent active noise cancellation is said to reduce background noise by up to 99 percent and allow users to set their preferred intensity. In ambient mode, users are said to be able to choose whether to amplify sounds in the immediate vicinity by up to 20 decibels. Busy multitaskers should thus be able to adjust the volume individually to their current needs – a practical feature for people who want to balance home office and family or keep an ear open for traffic while jogging through town.
The Galaxy Buds Pro’s Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation and Ambient modes are said to work together in an automated way, and can adapt to the current environment. The Galaxy Buds Pro’s sensors are also said to detect when people are talking through the automatic conversation mode and automatically switch between noise cancellation and amplification. Even when Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation is turned off or Ambient Mode is enabled, the music is turned down when the user wants to talk. This efficient balance between listening and communicating allows the headphones to adapt to individual situations.

Automatic device switching, gaming mode and 360° audio.
The Galaxy Buds Pro are said to expand the Galaxy ecosystem with Samsung’s most customizable headphones to date. Users can now automatically switch the connection between their Galaxy smartphones and tablets depending on their usage, without having to manually operate them. For example, if they are watching a video on their Galaxy Tab S7 and then receive a call on their Galaxy S21 5G, the active automatic device switching will pause the video and give the option to take the call with the Galaxy Buds Pro. Once the call is over, the True Wireless headphones switch back to the tablet and the video resumes.
The audio experience is also supported by the connection between Galaxy Buds Pro and other Galaxy devices – especially with the Galaxy S21 5G. With 360° audio featuring Dolby Head Tracking, users should be able to feel almost realistically at the center of the sound surrounding them. Vloggers are said to be able to capture their voice and ambient sounds very clearly by synchronizing the Galaxy S21 5G and Galaxy Buds Pro microphones. In gaming mode, the combination of reduced audio latency, powerful performance and high-resolution Galaxy S21 5G display is also said to elevate the mobile gaming experience to a high level.

The battery performance of the Galaxy Buds Pro wants to be well prepared for these demanding applications: Up to eight hours of playback should be possible on a full charge, plus a total of up to 20 hours of further reserve power through the charging case. Even with noise cancellation activated, up to five hours of playback are said to be available, plus a total of up to another 13 hours through the charging case. Thanks to the quick-charge function, five minutes of charging should be enough for up to one hour of playback time.

The look of the Galaxy Buds Pro wants to match the comfortable use in no way: The concise shape of the Galaxy Buds Live was further developed into a curved design for the Galaxy Buds Pro. The coaxial, i.e. staggered, speakers are supposed to result in a natural listening experience. Furthermore, the Galaxy Buds Pro are supposed to offer a comfortable wearing experience thanks to a smaller contact area between the ear cup and the earphones, and they are supposed to be less noticeable in the ear.

For everyday use of the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung offers some additional safeguards: The new True Wireless headphones meet the classification IPX7 , the highest protection against water penetration in the Galaxy Buds series. Those worried about losing one of the compact earbuds at some point can use SmartThings Find to easily find devices again: The app can locate components even when they are out of Bluetooth range. But it’s not just in terms of sound and comfort that the Galaxy Buds Pro aim to impress across the board, as 20 percent environmentally conscious post-consumer materials (PCM) are said to be used in the manufacturing process in order to conserve resources to a large extent.

Availability
Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Buds Pro from Samsung’s online store from January 14 – 28 will receive a Wireless Charger Pad for free. The Galaxy Buds Pro should be available online and in German stores from January 29, 2021. Price: 229 Euros (RRP).

Audeze Euclid: world’s first closed in-ear headphones with planar driver technology

Audeze Euclid: world’s first closed in-ear headphones with planar driver technology

By editor 3 weeks ago

With the new in-ear headphones Euclid, Audeze wants to prove that high-end sound can also be realized in the smallest format.

The closed headphone is said to feature Audeze’s sonically powerful planar driver technology, which has always delighted discerning hi-fi gourmets thanks to a host of proprietary patents such as Uniforce conductor paths, Fluxor magnets and Fazor waveguides.

Interchangeable earpieces and cables as well as a closed aluminum housing in matte black should make the Euclid a real Audeze highlight, exuding timeless elegance and making audiophile sound available everywhere.

High-end closed sound from Audeze: Euclid
Euclid is the first completely closed in-ear headphone from Audeze. The 18-millimeter planar drivers specially developed for this design and an ergonomically designed, milled aluminum housing are intended to make the Euclid an exceptional earphone, and not just in Audeze’s portfolio. It aims to inspire with the combination of timeless elegance and superior sound quality that has already made Audeze’s high-end headphones famous. Like its Greek namesake, the Euclid also wants to convince with numbers: it delivers a maximum sound pressure of 120 dB with a distortion factor of less than 0.1% and the highest frequency and phase fidelity. With its equally elegant and robust form, it should also demonstrate qualities beyond its measured values. Thus, it provides a sound experience that effortlessly satisfies even the most demanding music lovers – portable anywhere in the world.

Planar technology in miniaturized perfection
Audeze stands for planar headphones of the highest quality, which have long since found their place in countless mixing and mastering studios. The manufacturer wants to apply the same standard to its Euclid earphones. The 18-millimeter planar drivers are supposed to have all the groundbreaking patents such as Uniforce conductor paths, Fluxor magnets and Fazor waveguides, which already make the now legendary LCD headphones from Audeze (to the test overview) unique. Thus, the Euclid is also said to shine with incorruptible phase fidelity with a completely linear frequency response and offer the highest sound pressure of all closed in-ear headphones of its size. Together with the sensitivity of 110 dB/mW, this is said to provide a dynamic range that far exceeds other products in this category. Thus, despite its compact format, the Euclid In-Ear also offers the very big sound of Audeze’s reference headphones.

Timeless elegance through noble aluminum housing
The aluminum housing of the Audeze Euclid, milled from a single piece, with its elegant matte black finish not only wants to radiate noblesse, but also ensure maximum wearing comfort even over long periods of time. The shape, which has been specially developed in numerous test series, is intended to ensure high ergonomics with a pleasingly low weight and the best acoustic properties. This combination of chic design and cultivated practicality makes Euclid a sonorous gem for every day.

MMCX cable connection for great sound with maximum flexibility.
The closed design is not said to be the only new territory the Euclid enters in the Audeze in-ear catalog: the cables of the Audeze Euclid are connected to the earpiece via reliable MMCX connectors, which is said to ensure maximum stability with low weight. In addition, the cables can be easily exchanged, so that every audiophile connoisseur can customize their reference sound with a high-end cable of their choice. A Bluetooth adapter and a balanced connection option are also said to be available. The gold coating of the Euclid’s MMCX plugs should always guarantee the best contact properties and durability – for audiophile results, no matter what the application.

Perfect fit thanks to variable eartips
Thanks to its interchangeable earpieces, Audeze’s Euclid is said to adapt perfectly to any ear shape. Silicone and Comply Foam eartips as well as SpinFit eartips are included in the scope of delivery. This gives every user the opportunity to configure their very own personal high-end earpiece.

Price and availability
The Audeze Euclid is distributed in Germany and Austria exclusively by cma audio and is available immediately from selected retailers and the online store cma.audio. The recommended retail price is EUR 1,499.00 including VAT.

Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Flex now available in two new colors

From editor 1 month ago

With the Flex, Beats presents new in-ears that replace the BeatsX model (review) and are still almost 50 euros cheaper.

[Update from 01/20/2021]

As the manufacturer announces, the colors Smoke Gray and Flame Blue are now available at Apple, Amazon, Mediamarkt, Saturn, Gravis and Otto.

[Update end]

In doing so, the earphones utilize the flexible and practical design of the BeatsX and are said to feature huge improvements, including a magnetic autoplay/pause feature, 12 hours of battery life, a new acoustic driver, an improved microphone, and a USB-C charging port.

The Beats Flex (review) is said to be available in four colors: Beats Black, Yuzu Yellow, Smoke Gray and Flame Blue, with Beats Black and Yuzu Yellow available for pre-order now at apple.com.

“I’m excited to announce that Beats is launching its most affordable product ever – packed with incredible audio technology from Apple,” said Oliver Schusser, vice president of Beats, Apple Music and International Content. “This will allow even more music fans around the world to experience the sound quality and design that Beats products are known for.

The Beats Flex use a proprietary layered driver with dual-chamber acoustics to deliver rich, balanced sound with excellent stereo separation. Laser-cut micro ventilation and an optimized driver angle are said to provide pressure relief to the ear and precise sound delivery. Additionally, a processor fine-tunes the audio signal for precise bass, accurate mids and low distortion across the frequency curve.

The Beats Flex are made of Nitinol, which is said to be durable, and the flex-form cable is extremely lightweight and is said to be barely noticeable when worn around the neck. Magnetic earbuds make listening all the easier, as they automatically play music when in the ears and pause when worn around the neck. When not in use, they easily roll up in your pocket or purse without getting tangled. And with four earbud options, you’ll get a secure fit for optimal sound and comfort.

With Class 1 Bluetooth technology, Beats Flex offers greater wireless range and fewer dropouts. An integrated microphone helps reduce wind noise and aims to provide better voice clarity and call performance. The corresponding controls can be used to adjust the volume, manage music, answer calls or activate the voice assistant.

The Apple W1 chip seamlessly integrates Beats Flex into the world of Apple products. As with AirPods, that means simply turning it on and holding it near an iPhone or iPad for one-touch pairing. From there, Beats Flex can be used with any Apple device that’s synced with iCloud, so you can seamlessly switch between products, check battery status or use audio sharing.

Beats Flex is said to provide up to 12 hours of listening pleasure, with a 10-minute fast-fuel charge then providing 1.5 hours of playback time. With USB-C charging, the Beats Flex aim to provide a single charging solution for both Apple and Android platforms. Android users can also download the Beats app from the Google Play Store for additional features such as quick pairing, device status (i.e. battery status) and firmware updates.

Beats Flex packaging is said to use the least amount of plastic of any Beats packaging to date, and is made of 87% fiber-based materials. All wood fiber in the packaging comes from recycled sources or responsibly managed forests, and the product tray is recyclable with paper, it adds.

EPOS offers latency-free gaming on the go with new GTW 270 Hybrid wireless in-ear headphones

EPOS offers latency-free gaming on the go with new GTW 270 Hybrid wireless in-ear headphones

From editor 1 month ago

EPOS presents the first exclusively EPOS-branded gaming peripheral for on-the-go.

The GTW 270 Hybrid wireless in-ear headphones want to set new standards for low-latency audio quality.

This is said to be made possible via the included USB-C dongle, thanks to which the in-ear headphones are said to be perfect for latency-free gaming sessions. Bluetooth connectivity also allows them to connect to a wide range of smartphones.

Designed for gaming on the go, the GTW 270 Hybrid are compatible with Nintendo Switch, Android smartphones, PC and Sony PlayStation. For those who are fully committed to Bluetooth compatibility, the GTW 270 is also available for pre-order now in a lower-priced version without a dongle.

High-quality audio anywhere
With up to five hours of battery life after just 90 minutes of charging, the GTW 270 Hybrid wireless in-ear headphones are said to be the ideal companion for casual gamers as well as hardcore gamers during gaming sessions no matter where you are. The included charging case in silver gray provides an additional 20 hours of charging time for longer gaming sessions.

With interchangeable rubberized ear tips in a variety of sizes and its ergonomic shape, the noise-isolating earbud conforms to the natural shape of the ears and is said to provide a comfortable fit. Thanks to a database of 800,000 ear scans provided to EPOS by its parent company Demant, EPOS engineers are said to have compared numerous designs with statistical data using AI technologies. Based on this, an earbud design is said to have been developed that reduces pressure on the ear to negligible levels while providing an excellent acoustic seal and state-of-the-art in-ear acoustics. The GTW 270 Hybrid are also waterproof to IPX 5 standards, protecting them from sweat and light rain.

“With its discreet yet premium design, the GTW 270 Hybrid are a great product for those looking for excellent wireless in-ear headphones for gaming on the go with the best possible latency-free audio quality. Whether diving into a gaming session on a quick break or playing a few rounds of your favorite game on the Switch or your smartphone on the way to work, the GTW 270 Hybrid provide uncompromised sound for gamers wherever they are,” said Maja Sand-Grimnitz, Head of Global Marketing at EPOS.”

The Power of Audio
Unlike other wireless in-ear headphones, the GTW 270 Hybrid’s low-latency aptX codec is said to deliver clear audio with closed acoustics: for gaming sound that fully immerses gamers. The ergonomic shape of each earbud combined with proprietary miniature EPOS audio drivers are said to deliver deep, powerful bass, natural mids and crisp highs for unmatched sound quality designed specifically for gaming sessions. In addition, the GTW 270 Hybrid offer standard Bluetooth 5.1 for dual-channel speaker and microphone transmission. The dual microphones on the in-ear headphones are said to ensure clear communication and reduce background noise for a comprehensive multiplayer gaming experience.

In addition to standard Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity to any Bluetooth-compatible device, the GTW 270 Hybrid’s USB-C wireless dongle is compatible with Nintendo Switch and Android smartphones. A 1.5-meter USB-C to USB-A cable for PC and Sony PlayStation consoles is also included.
