Under the motto “Number One In Sound”, SPL has developed a new product line that aims to combine the sound of their large devices with a desktop-friendly design and an affordable price for the ambitious user.
The Series One is designed to appeal equally to professional recording studios, home studios, musicians, music lovers and media creatives of all varieties.
The first two Series One devices are named Phonitor One and Phonitor One d, are both headphone amplifiers and celebrate their product launch today! More Series One devices are to follow shortly.
SPL’s Phonitor One headphone amplifier enables high-quality monitoring of analog sources. Thanks to the Phonitor Matrix with Crossfeed Control, it should be possible to create mixes that sound as if they were mixed through speakers. An analog volume control, an aluminum front panel and a high-quality metal housing are supposed to show that no compromises have been made in quality. The Phonitor d is also said to use the highly acclaimed AKM AK4490 Velvet Sound premium DAC chip, which is said to reproduce the finest sound details thanks to its new architecture. PCM playback with up to 768 kHz/32Bit and Direct Stream Digital up to DSD4 playback should leave nothing to be desired. A balanced stereo line output predestines the Phonitor One d for use as a stand-alone DAC.
